An AI assistant generates responses using a trained model and the context available to it. Depending on the tool and its settings, that context may include this conversation, saved memories, earlier chats, files, connected apps or a web search. Some assistants search automatically when a question needs current information. Availability varies, and none of this guarantees that the answer is complete or correct.

Even when memory is available, give the assistant the context for this particular task: what outcome you need, who it is for, and which facts it must not guess. Earlier information may be incomplete or out of date. Clear instructions help, but answer quality also depends on the model, the available evidence and the task.

Keep three kinds of information separate: what you supplied, what the assistant retrieved from a source, and what it inferred or assumed. A fluent answer is not a verified answer. Check important claims against the actual sources, and check the tool’s settings rather than relying on its description of what it can access.

Compare: "Can you help me with my report?" against "Write a one-page summary of these notes for my team lead, plain language, decisions first." The second gives a clearer task and a way to judge the draft. Neither guarantees a correct result. Giving useful context and checking the result are skills, and they are what this hour trains.
